What you will be learning during our Unit on Cells, Diffusion, Osmosis and Active Transport. On a future assessment, you need to be able to do the following: Plant and Animal Cells: -You will be shown a picture of either a plant or animal cell. You will have first to identify what type of cell you are being shown. Then you will have to label the parts of the cell. -You will have to fill in a two column chart. One column will contain the names of the organelles and the other column will contain the functions. There will be some information missing from the chart. You will have to fill in the missing information. -You will have to completely describe differences between plant and animal cells. Be able to describe at least 4 differences. Diffusion, Osmosis and Active Transport: -You should be able to define and describe diffusion, osmosis, passive transport, active transport, concentration, transport proteins, engulfing and selectively permeable. -You should be able to explain similarities and differences between active and passive transport. -You will be shown pictures of beakers containing plant/animal cells in different liquids. You will have to write a hypothesis about what will happen to the cells. What you will be learning during our Unit on Cells, Diffusion, Osmosis and Active Transport.
