Transcript
Diffusion: the movement of particles from an area of
higher concentration to an area of lower concentration.
The process continues until equilibrium (particles are
evenly distributed)
Osmosis: is the diffusion of water across a semi
permeable membrane from an area of high water
concentration to an area of low water concentration
Hypotonic solution: means there is less solute
concentration in the solution than in the cell
Hypertonic solution: means there is more solute in the
solution than in the cell
Isotonic solution: means there is an equal amount of
solute in the solution and in the cell
