Spelling Tic-Tac-Toe
Each week, you are to complete 3 activities – choose 1 activity each night.
Assignments are due every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Each activity is to be
completed on loose-leaf paper (not ripped out of a copybook) and turned in
the following day. Be sure your name, date, and the number of the activity are listed.
Vary your choices weekly—I will keep track!

Use a computer to
type and print each
word (once each)
using different
fonts.
Write your words
in ABC order.

Next to each word,
write 3 words that
rhyme with your
spelling word.
Look up your
spelling words in
the dictionary and
divide them into
syllables.
Create a word
search using 15 of
your spelling
words.

Vocabulary Homework Activity Menu
You are to complete 2 activities on loose-leaf paper to be collected
every Tuesday and Thursday. Be sure your name, date, and activity
number are listed. Vary your choices weekly—I will keep track!
1. Write each vocabulary word in a sentence that contains a
context clue. (Must have 7 words in each sentence)
2. Use the thesaurus and write at least one synonym for each of
your words.
3. Make a set of flash cards using your vocabulary words. (Also
serves as a study tool!)
4. Write a letter to someone you know using at least 5 vocabulary
words.
5. Draw a picture to illustrate 5 of your vocabulary words.
6. Make a matching test and have a friend/family member take it
for you.
7. Write a short story (at least 6 sentences) using as many
vocabulary words as you can. (Must have at least 5)
8. Find an article (newspaper, magazine, Internet) that has at least
5 of your vocabulary words in it.
9. Write an Acrostic poem for 4 of your vocabulary words.
