I can identify verbs and use a verb in a sentence with the correct tense. I can use the correct punctuation at the end of sentences. This means I know when to use a period, question mark, and exclamation point. I can spell common word patterns and sight words. Day 1 Instructional Activities: Assessments (formative and/or summative): Guest Speakers Day 2 Instructional Activities: Journal- what are your goals for the week? Read “Pig in a Wig!” and identify, define, and describe the characters (whole group) Introduce spelling words using the spelling PowerPoint and chant them. Introduce “short i” sound. The white crayon acts as a resist and the words "magically" appear. Practice spelling test Read “Pig in a Wig” and find how many periods, exclamation points, and question marks are in the Gamaliel Elementary Lesson Plan Template story. Write different types of sentences using “Words from the Story”.
