FLOW RESOURCES BY:Jaffar Safi WHY WE NEED AIR? • There are 5 layers of atmosphere surrounding earth. • They are called: exosphere, thermosphere, mesosphere, stratosphere, ozone layer and troposphere. In between these layers is where weather takes place. THE ATMOSPHERE PROTECTS US • The atmospheres help to protect earth. Without the atmosphere it would freeze at night. The heat and light from the sun would be so intense it would burn us.Also Ultraviolet rays from the sun can harm trees, plants, and animals. WIND PATTERNS • Some parts of the planet are more windy than others. • Areas with high and low pressure areas are closer to each other are windier than others.Coastal areas are windy because the land and the sea heat up at different rates causing differences in air pressure. HOW DOES THE SUN SUPPORT LIFE ON EARTH? • The sun provides us with heat and energy.Without the sun, life on earth cannot exist.It supports us with light and heat which can be transformed into energy.The sun's energy passes through the atmosphere and heats earth.
