It is ILLEGAL to perform a tie in except:
If a licensed electrician performs it
or
A "qualified individual" performs it.
If an electrician performs it, then it may be at his or her discretion.
If a "qualified individual" performs it, he or she must have been trained to
perform it, and it must be performed only in a location specifically
designated for TEMPORARY tie ins - such as a company (bull) switch.
If your location satisfies the above requirements, you will need the
following to perform a tie in:
Qualified individual
Voltage meter
Five cables rated at necessary current with bear ends on one end and
CamLok on the other (colored Red, Blue, Black, Green, and White), Spider
box or distro built for your requirements (such as 50A stage pin single
phase, or three phase, etc)
*You MAY NOT tie into breaker boxes,
transformers, or main disconnects. *
