Data Warehouse Engineer
Location: Wright-Patterson AFB (Greater Dayton, OH area)
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or
equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years
of professional experience with a related Master’s degree.
Responsibilities: The Data Warehouse Engineer performs analyses, development and
evaluation of data mining and ETL in a data warehouse environment, which includes data
design, database architecture, metadata, workflow and repository creation. Uses data mining,
data analysis and ETL tools. Designs, develops and maintains databases. Reviews data loaded
into the data warehouse for accuracy. Responsible for preparation of system requirements,
analyses and design throughout the data warehouse implementation. Interacts with user
community to produce reporting requirements.
Collects daily metrics, daily load processing and monitoring, maintenance and revision work to
existing Informatica Power center ETL scripts and workflows. Performs level III ticket resolution
with end-users and source systems, monitors inbound/outbound data extracts and feeds and
coordinates with DISA for SLA issues concerning scheduled and unscheduled outages.
Performs scheduled deployment support for all inbound Informatica Powercenter ETL,
Goldengate, and source system feeds and data extracts for the GCSS-AF Data Services
environments. Perform upgrades of Golden Gate and Informatica increasing the performance
envelope of these existing systems. Performs Informatica Proactive Monitoring for Power
Center Operations installation and maintenance. Also responsible for researching data feed
questions and ad hoc requests from the Data Services PMO. Supports Data Test Environment
(DTE) as required.
Performs storage system capacity planning, workload management, performance tuning and
archrival processes of the enterprise data warehouse databases and business intelligence tool
sets. Captures detailed system data that provide insight into the overall operation of the
Teradata as well as the Oracle platforms. This includes scripting, load scenarios, and reporting
using HP Load Runner for all applications in Dev, DTE, Pre-Prod and Prod.
