Transcript
Study guide for Mrs. Williams Plate Tectonic’s test (Thursday, Sept. 15).
A. Know the following vocabulary words:
Inner core
Outer core
Mantle
Crust
Subduction boundary/zone
Divergent boundary
Convergent boundary
Transform boundary
Mid-ocean ridge
Pangaea
Lithosphere
Tectonic plates
B. Know the directions in which the different boundaries move (Remember:
“definition disco” divergent…convergent…transform…subduct. We used this in class).
I may draw arrows to show the direction of a plate. You will need to identify these.
C. I may ask a few open ended or short answers related to Pangaea and plate
movement such as:
How did Pangaea form?
How does sea floor spreading occur?
Identify the 4 layers of the earth (inner, outer, mantle, crust) (Remember: “definition
disco “crumping””inner, outer, mantle, crust!”)
Which is the hottest layer?
Which is the layer that we live on?
Which is the thickest
What is convection current (Remember: I demonstrated with the blue food coloring and
white rice boiling).
