Spelling Homework *Choose TWO activities to complete throughout the week (Monday- Thursday) to practice your spelling words. Each activity should be completed in your spelling notebook and signed by one parent upon completion. Telephone Words Illustrated Words- Type Me! Translate 10 of your words into numbers using the numbers on a telephone. Write 10 spelling words and illustrate them in your spelling notebook. Type each of your words out on your computer. Glue them in your notebook or email me! Recipe Spelling Memory Ransom Words A recipe is a set of instructions for making or preparing something. Write TWO sets of spelling words on index cards. Flip them all over, have someone play with you, flip 2 cards over at a time. If they match, keep them and get another turn. If they DON’T match, the next person goes. Make sure you say and spell the word when you flip it over. (please write spelling memory in your journal and date it) Be an Author Colorful Vowels Write a recipe using at least 5 spelling words. Write a story using 10 of your words. Silly Sentences Try to use at least ten words to make 10 silly sentences. Write 10 spelling words with a pencil then go over each vowel within the word with a crayon or marker. Backwards Words Write 10 of your words. Then write each one backwards. Ex: around dnuora On a piece of paper cut out letters from a newspaper or magazine and glue the letters to spell 8 of your words like this: Hangman Have an adult draw dashes for the number of letters in each word. Guess letters until you can spell your spelling word. Example: m a n y Spelling Math Use the table of letters below. Each letter is worth a number.
