The Battle of Verdun in World War 1 was one of the bloodiest single battles

countries were that were involved in WW1.
b. Mark the location of Verdun
c. Draw a line to show the battle front.
2.
Write a letter that a soldier might have written from the battlefield. You
can choose to write as an English, French or German soldier. Describe what it
was like to be on the battlefield.
3.
Provide statistics for the Battle
a. How many soldiers were killed?
b. How many were wounded?
c. How long did the battle last?
d. Who won?
4.
Reflective Essay: This battle and others like it in World War 1 affected how
people think. For nearly 100 years before World War 1, there had been no
wars that affected many countries at the same time. People had become
optimistic that the world was getting better. How might this battle have
causes people to think differently after the war was over?
