The Things That Make You Effective - Athority

1 Cor 16:9 A great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many
adversaries. NKJV
A Mega door called effectiveness has been set before me. There is much warfare
and many enemies in opposition, but I=m pressing on. Kent Angeloff Translation
I=m sure that all of us want to be capable of doing things that will advance the
kingdom of God. Jesus sets before us open doors that we can walk through
and operate in the things that He has made available to us.
When God=s people take advantage of walking in the ways of God, they can=t
help but be effective. Men have come up with all kinds of ways to become
successful, but if their ways are not God=s ways they will not cause any lasting
effect in eternity.
I see the door of effectiveness producing two things in your life.
* First of all, you will learn things that will cause you to be effective if you will
put those principals to work.
* Secondly you will be equipped with supernatural ability to become effective
when you spend time on the inside of those doors.
There is no better way to find out how to be effective than to study the bible
and find out what the word of God reveals to you.
I want to do a study on the Greek word that is translated Aeffective@ in order
to find out what is behind that great door called effectiveness.
The Greek word is, AEnergeoo@. It is the word we get our English word,
Aenergy@ from. Energy is, exertion of power, it is the capacity to perform a
work.
I have great Energeoo in my body, that=s my confession and I=m sticking to
it:) God has more Energeoo in His little finger than all the demons combined.
There are many adversaries that come against us, but God gives us a greater
force called “authority” to deal with our enemies.
Jesus Said,
Luke 10:19 "Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions,
and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you." NAS
Jesus has given us the power of authority so that we can overcome the power
of the enemy that tries to stop us from becoming effective.
I am not a Greek scholar, but I know how to look up a Greek word in the
dictionary. The word translated Aauthority@ in Luke 10:19 is, Aexousia@.
Exousia means, the power of authority. We have been given the power of
authority over the power of the devil.
When we are standing in the authority of an ambassador in the kingdom of
heaven, all of heavens power stands behind us to enforce the will of the Father.
Example - The enemy came to capture Elisha, but Elisha was standing in the
authority of God, and all of heaven was standing with Elisha.
2 Kings 6:15-17 Now when the attendant of the man of God had risen early and
gone out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was circling the city. And his
servant said to him, "Alas, my master! What shall we do?" 16 So he answered,
"Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them."
17 Then Elisha prayed and said, "O LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see."
And the LORD opened the servant's eyes and he saw; and behold, the mountain was
full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. NAS
Exousia - That means we have been given the power, or right, to give
commands to demon forces. The power of authority is the power to enforce
obedience. We have been given the right to tell the devil he must obey the laws
of the kingdom of God.
Matt 16:19-20 "I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you
bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth
shall have been loosed in heaven." NAS
Another definition of exousia in the Greek is, “the power of choice”. What we
must understand is that if we don=t use our God given power to choose what
transpires on the earth, then we forfeit our rights to the devil.
We will never be effective if we do not make a choice to use the authority that
God has given us, to use the keys of the kingdom to bind and loose the enemy.
Whenever we face opposition from the enemy, we have a choice concerning
what we are going to do. If we make the choice to use the authority that God
has given us, the enemy must obey and his plans will be shattered in the earth.
The conclusion of what I have been saying so far is, that when we go through
the open door called effectiveness we are given authority over the adversaries
that try to stop us from doing a great work in the kingdom of God.
Let me show you a good example of the difference between authority and
power back in the book of Exodus.
God called Moses to do a great work in His kingdom by delivering His people
from slavery to the Egyptians.
Ex 7:9-12 "When Pharaoh speaks to you, saying, 'Work a miracle,' then you shall
say to Aaron, 'Take your staff and throw it down before Pharaoh, that it may
become a serpent.'" 10 So Moses and Aaron came to Pharaoh, and thus they did
just as the LORD had commanded; and Aaron threw his staff down before Pharaoh
and his servants, and it became a serpent. 11 Then Pharaoh also called for the wise
men and the sorcerers, and they also, the magicians of Egypt, did the same with
their secret arts. 12 For each one threw down his staff and they turned into
serpents. But Aaron's staff swallowed up their staffs. NAS
Aaron=s staff swallowed up their staffs. This is what I want to get across to
you. There are many adversaries that will try to stop us from fulfilling the call
of God on our lives, but God has given us authority over them.
We must use the power of authority to swallow up our enemies and go
forward to do a great work for God.
1 John 4:4 You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; [Every false
wicked spirit and the spirit of antichrist] because greater is He who is in you than
he who is in the world. NAS
The great, awesome, almighty God is within you. Just inside the door He has
gives you the power of authority to make decisions concerning the aggravating
forces that come against you. We must take authority over our adversaries
first and then move ahead through the great door called effectiveness.
