Pastoral Council Meeting July 26, 2010 Meeting convened at 7 pm in the back sacristy of the Church. In attendance: Fr. Mike, Fr. John Paul, Ben Letezia, Jon Markey, Jamie Baker , Jo Timperman, Maria Elena Salazar, Ann Dice, Anne Derepentigny , Ted Druhot, and ET Morrison. In keeping with the PPC by-laws governing the selections of Facilitator and convener, Fr. Mike appointed Ben Letezia facilitator and Jamie Baker convener. It was agreed that the recorder position, which is responsible for preparing the meeting minutes, would be rotated on a monthly basis. Ben reviewed the responsibilities of a council member with emphasis on his/her role as advisor, liaison and leader. Fr. Mike spoke about the importance of the Council in effecting change in the parish. Members re-introduced themselves and highlighted their respective interests in the Council’s work. Liaison positions were discussed and appointments agreed upon for the various ministries. Fr. Mike asked for emphasis on certain areas within each ministry. Liaisons are as follows: Christian Formation: emphasis on Religious Education, St. Francis School, and Youth Ministry: Anne Derepentigny Prayer and Worship: Ann Dice and Jon Markey Stewardship: emphasis on a volunteer recognition program: Jamie Baker Evangelization: emphasis on parish ecumenical representatives: Errol T. or ET Community Building: emphasis on Crusillo and Kairos: Jo Timperman. Social Outreach: emphasis on HAPIN Meals and CS&J: Ted Action ALL-Fr. Mike requested updates from the liaisons at the August meeting. Old Business: Jo announced that the Parish Directory was going to press with 540 participants for the photo sessions. Those parishioners without photos will still be listed in the Directory. New Business: The quarterly Parish Newsletter has been suspended for budgetary reasons. Ben requested council members to attend one of two coffees associated with the upcoming Fellowship Sunday as greeters, to answer any questions, etc. It was suggested that the Mass presider introduce those council members who attend either the 9 or 10:30 masses and indicate that they will be at the coffees. A parishioner had inquired about the wheel chair accessibility via one of the doors to the church. Action: JB to contact Lee Bullen for a history. Action: BL to contact Terry Conway re what was considered in the past and at what cost. Following a closing prayer by Fr. John Paul, the meeting was adjourned at 8:15pm. .
