Benito M. Escasa was born on February 9, 1959 in Lucena City, Quezon province,
Philippines. He is more popularly known as “Ben” to his friends & colleagues in the
music industry.
Ben is a musician by profession. He plays the drums, bass guitar, percussion, and the
guitar. He is a freelance record producer in the Philippines. He has produced albums
for Viva Records , Star Records, Polyeast Records, BMG Pilipinas, & EMI Records
from 1984 up to the present. He is a bona fide member of FILSCAP – FILIPINO
SOCIETY OF COMPOSERS & PUBLISHERS.
He has composed songs for the country”s top recording artists in the Philippines like,
Ms. Sharon Cuneta, Ms Lanie Misalucha, Ms ZsaZsa Padilla, Jaya, Mr. Martin
Nievera, Janno Gibs, to name a few.
Ben , together with his wife, Alma, made it to the top 12 finalists in the year 2000 in
the Metro Manila Pop Music Festival.
Ben also composes jingle for TV commercials, Movie Theme Songs, and Hymns of
organizations. With his wife, as the lyricist, they were commissioned to do the 2008
SEA GAMES OLYMPICS “ A Time For Heroes “ aired on NBN TV channel 4.
Ben & his wife, Alma, also landed 1st runner up in the Q-Songwriting Contest held at
the University of Santo Tomas last year, 2009 in celebration of the oldest university in
Asia’s 400 years in 2011.
