Blurb –
This course looks at two “mega-events” in European history – Ancient Greeks and the
rise of democracy and philosophy, and the French Revolution. The unit is used to look
at the differing of “ideas” in these two eras, with particular focus on the differences in
political, philosophical and religious thoughts and the changing of these to bring about
overall changes in society. The unit looks at how outside events can influence
societies, both present at the time and in the future.
