4(1)(b)(i) – Particulars of Organisation, functions and duties:
OBJECTIVIES:
The Assistant Project Officer (Publicity) Office is a District Unit of the
Information and Public Relations Department and play a vital role as an Official media
and projecting the image of the government policies, schemes, programmes which were
implemented to the Tribal community from time to time. The functions of the Assistant
Project Officer (P) Office are multifarious and linked with communication network like
Print and Electronic Media. The Office also functions as a facilitator between the
Government and Tribal People. The Office disseminate the public views and reactions
about various schemes in form of feedback reports so as to take corrective measures at
Govt.Level, if necessary. The Assistant Project Officer (P) Office is a model in
responding to the requests/pleas of Tribal People. The Major functions of the APO(P)
Office are as follows:
1. Conduct of Exhibitions
2. Conduct of Press Tours
3. Conduct of Song & Drama Programmes
4. Conduct of Press Conferences
5. Conduct of Film Shows
6. Issue of Press Releases
7. Issue of Photographs
8. Obtaining of feedback reports from tribal people on various policies.
9. Releasing of Success Stories.
10. Releasing of Feature Articles.
11. Issue of Rejoinders on adverse items published in News papers
FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
4(1)(b)(ii)- The powers and duties of its Officers and employees:
Assistant Project Officer(Publicity):
The Assistant Project Officer (Publicity), Nizamabad is the Head of the
Office, who supervises the activities and functions of the Office.

Assistant Public Relations Officer (Post Vacant):
Asst.PRO is looking after exclusively the Office work including
administration, establishment. Looking after the Press clippings, rejoinders, issue of
Press Release, Press Tours, Exhibitions etc. publicity work.
Junior Assistant:
The Junior Assistant is confined to the Accounts Section. He looks after the
work of preparation of various bills including pay bills.
Publicity Assistants:
Film shows, exhibitions, Tape recording, photography are being organized in
the Tribal areas.
Attender:
The attender daily arrives to the Office half-an hour in advance. They
distribute the tappals to District and departmental offices and distribute Press Releases,
Photographs to the various News paper offices and discharges all other works assigned
by the concerned sections.
4(1)(b)(iii) The procedure followed in the decision making process, includisng
channels of supervision and accountability:
The procedure prescribed in the District Office Manual is being followed in
principle. In addition to the above the head of the Unit i.e. APO(P) initiates action
according to the need and necessity of the situation and execute work from his
subordinates, so as to play the true role of APO.
