Creating a Poster About Ancient Rome
Overview:
This project challenges you to create a poster about ancient Rome
that answers this question: What are the important ideas that you
learned about ancient Rome? You will create a poster with four
sections to represent the topics covered in the unit: The
Development of the Roman Republic, The Rise of the Empire,
The Rise of Christianity, and Rome and the spread of Christianity.
Requirements
1)
Your poster must be created to support you answer to
this question: What are the most important ideas that you learned
about Ancient Rome? The poster will have 4 sections each of
which represents a topic covered in the unit. For each topic below
you must describe and illustrate four key ideas that you think are
important to remember.
The Development of The Roman Republic (Include at least 4)
Romulus and Remus, Patricians plebeians, Republic, Checks and
Balances, Twelve Tables
The Rise of the Empire: (Include at least 4) Problems in the
Republic, Julius Caesar, Augustus, Hannibal, The Punic wars,
Cleopatra, Mark Antony
The Origins of Christianity: (Include at least 4) Messiah, Birth of
Jesus Christ, Teachings, Parables, Gospels, Paul of Tarsus, Disciples
Rome and the Spread of Christianity: (Include at least 4) Women’s
Lives, Religious Ceremonies: Religious buildings, Divine authority,
Heroic Figures, Music, Art, Burial Practices, St. Paul
2.) Your poster must contain these elements:
The project question written at the top of the poster
Four separated sections each representing one of the topics covered
in the unit
Each section must contain
 A subtitle indicating the topic it represents
 Four simple visuals, each representing a different key idea
that you think is important to remember
 Four labels indicating which key idea each visual represents
 Two or three sentence captions for each visual. Each caption
should describe the key idea you have illustrated and explain
why it is important to remember.
