Timeline of World History
Prehistory-1500
As a class, you will be creating a timeline of history!
Directions:
1. Select an area of study from the list. Only one person can have a
particular topic. Do a little textbook hunting for basic info on your
topic.
2. Think about what is significant about your topic. Go beyond the
basics. For example, if your topic is Egypt, do not simply think
pyramids. Learn additional info you did not know previously.
3. You will then create a 4x6 panel. There are examples in the room. Completely fill your panel with the
name of your topic, the dates associated (rise and fall, for example), and significant visuals. You may draw,
copy, or incorporate images from the computer. Include your name, date, and period on the back of the
panel in the upper right hand corner. Do not include info on the back of your card.
4. Cut and paste the rubric below to the back of your panel.
5. DUE DATE: _________________________
Purpose: This assignment will not only get your familiar with using your textbook, but will also expose
you to the various topics we will learn throughout the year (note: there will be a few topics we will not
have time to study; however, I still think these civilizations are important). You will also learn how to
place events/people etc. in chronological order from BC – AD (BCE – CE).
