WWII Final Knowledge Project
American Studies Winter 2013
This final project is the culminating assessment to our unit on WWII and
the Holocaust. For this project you will work in small groups to answer
thematic questions about WWII. Together with your teammates you will
be responsible for constructing an intelligent and thorough answer to
your assigned research question. Your answer will address and explain
all important events, terms, and people – a list will be provided for you.
Each group is expected to create one written abstract* (1-2 pages double
spaced), a list of the terms defined, as well as a visual. Each abstract will
be carefully written and edited and be distributed to your peers in
preparation for the examination.
The final examination will consist of a written assessment. Each student
will be responsible for their assigned question, one question assigned at
random, and a final comprehensive question.
Detailed expectations for the written abstract and the visual will be
distributed after vacation.
Successful completion of this assignment requires mature collaboration.
We suggest that your group develop an “action plan” for the following
days where you devise a schedule, assign roles, and/or divide terms.
Due dates:
Rough Draft of written abstract:
Day 1: February 28th
Day 2: March 1st
Final Draft:
Day 1: March 8th
Day 2: March 7th
Final written exam and visual due:
Day 1: TBA
Day 2: TBA
