Knowledge and awareness of domestic violence
issues and feminist principles and of how
homelessness among women and children.
An understanding of the Supporting People
framework.
A methodical and well-organised approach to
workload and an ability to work on own
initiative within a sometimes stressful setting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal
skills, able to communicate effectively both
orally and in writing.
An ability to foster a good rapport with users of
the service, colleagues as a proactive team
player, and outside agencies.
An ability to develop an effective working
relationship with abused women.

A driver with a clean driving licence. Please
note that this post will involve regular travel
within the area covered by the service.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of
Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. It will
be necessary for a Disclosure to be made to
the Criminal Records Bureau for details of any
previous criminal convictions.
