Gupta Empire of India (320 CE to 550 CE)
 Section Overview – the Gupta dynasty came to power in India in 320
AD/CE. The strong Gupta gov’t, which gave power to the local leaders,
united much of the Indian subcontinent and insured peace and prosperity.
Hinduism had a very strong impact on the Gupta society and cultural life.
Gupta scientists and mathematicians made important discoveries and
advances.
