Unit: Fitness Testing Equipment: Fitnessgram CD 4th grade folders and pencils Muscle chart Mats- curl up test Grade Level: 3-4 # of Days: 5 12 “ ruler Stop watch 90* angle Scale and Height Chart Enduring Understanding: Fitness testing includes the 5 components of health-related fitness; aerobic capacity, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility and body composition. Students are tested in the 5 components of health-related fitness using the Fitnessgram standard. Essential Questions: 1. What does it mean to be fit? 2. How is fitness related to everyday life? 3. Why is strength important for every day tasks? 4. What is an exercise to increase strength?
