Quadrants- 1/4 sections of the coordinate graph Perpendicular Lines- intersect at right angles Hypotenuse-the longest side of a right triangle//the side of the right triangle that is opposites of the right angle Irrational Number- Numbers that can not be written as fractions with a numerator and denominator Perpendicular- meeting at right angles Pythagorean theorem- a statement about the relationship between the lengths of the sides of a right triangle Rational numbers- a number that can be written as a fraction with a numerator and a denominator Real number- the set of all rational numbers and irrational numbers Repeating decimal- a decimal with a pattern of digits that repeats forever Square root- if A=s2, then s is the square root of A. For example, -3 and 3 are square roots of 9 because 3x3=9 and –3x-3=9. Terminating decimal- a decimal that ends Example Problems: 1.
