The computer game had great graphics. The computer game was very challenging. The Cliffs of Insanity were dangerously high. The Man in Black climbed the Cliffs of Insanity. You could improve by adding: Powerful verbs, exciting adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, interjections (Yuck! Ouch! Oh no!), embedded clauses, modal verbs, relative pronouns. We have learnt about all of these! How many can you use? Buttercup was raised on a small farm. She lived in the country of Florin. She loved to ride her horse. She also liked to boss the farm boy around. His name was Westley. She never called him that. She gave him lots of tasks to do. He never complained. All he ever said was ‘As you wish.’ She asked him to polish her saddle. “As you wish.” he said. She asked him to fill buckets with water. ‘As you wish.’ He said She asked him to fetch a pitcher. “As you wish.” He said. Buttercup realised that when he said ‘As you wish’ he meant something else. You have seen the clip. Merits can be gained here! Maths: For all: Subtraction – Use the column method to solve these calculations: 654 – 162 = 385 – 217 = 765 – 164 = 8521 – 074 = 674 – 277 = 7523 – 6254 = 6827 – 1663 = 5874 – 1632 = 6424 – 1742 = 5853 – 1992 = Challenge: Multiplication - Use the grid method to solve these calculations: 15 x 8 = 22 x 7 = 63 x 21 = 17 x 28 = 43 x 65 = 67 x 123 = Extra Challenge: Division – Use the bus stop method to solve these calculations. Give your answers with a remainder where appropriate. If you are really up for a challenge try giving your answer as a decimal! 174 ÷ 4 = 642 ÷ 6 = 834 ÷ 8 = 2864 ÷ 7 = 8654 ÷ 5 = 7654 ÷ 15 = Termly Creative Homework This term our focus is on France but also on Life Cycles of plants.
