LTE EPC Tester Telecom Long Term Evolution (LTE) is the next-generation, high-speed wireless broadband technology. Evolved Packet Core (EPC) is at the heart of a LTE network and is required to process massive amounts of data. It handles User Data sessions with varied Quality of Service (QoS) and processes millions of control transactions per second. Hence the EPC (MME, SGW and PGW) needs to be thoroughly validated throughout the Product Life Cycle in order to meet the operator expectations. At Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), our LTE EPC Tester addresses these needs to effectively validate the EPC from a functionality, performance, capacity and robustness viewpoint. Overview The ability to test the EPC with field like situations under traffic is imperative to EPC product quality. Towards this, Equipment Vendors (EV’s) seek Simulators that can test near to field scenarios. EV’s also want their Test Tools to evolve in-line with the changing 3GPP standards without making significant time & effort investments. TCS’ LTE EPC Tester addresses the above needs. It simulates UEs and eNBs to effectively test the EPC for Control, User & Management planes. It is a software-centric solution designed to test in a multiuser, multi-eNB configuration. The solution is low cost, scalable and runs on Linux platform. It is customizable and can be backward integrated to legacy test assets. It can be used by the Design, Product Verification & Validation organizations of an EV. n Capacity modeling and distribution: Validates key Capacity Indicators such as busy hour model, data throughput, max UEbased traffic modeling and load balancing. n Result monitoring and analysis: Consists of detailed traffic run analysis, session-level analysis at LTE control plane; and throughput and QoS analysis at LTE user plane.
