Newsletter Language Arts Reading: We didn’t have a new story this week. Our focus was on math and writing. Language: SOCIAL STUDIES Students used their research notes to begin writing their reports about their landmark. Projects and pictures are due next Friday, April 22. We will start sharing projects on April 25. There was no spelling test this week. Writing: On Tuesday, students took the AzMERIT Writing Assessment. Students have been writing thank you letters. Quest: The top Quest readers for 4th Quarter are: Megan—45 points Mya—35 points Allison—35 points Quest request deadline: May 11 Quest test deadline: May 13 If your child will be attending another school next year, please inform Jill Bendon or Jackie Black in the office as soon as possible. AzMERIT TESTING for 3rd GRADE Mon., April 18 ~ ELA I and Math I Tues., April 19 ~ ELA 2 and Math 2 Everything went smoothly on Tuesday’s writing test. On Monday and Tuesday, testing starts at 8:00 a.m. sharp, so children need to be at school on time. April 25 4:30 PTO Meeting April 25-29 Spring Book Fair April 29 “Fiesta de Las Sendas” Auction and Social Event starts at 6:30 pm The Vistas Pavilion at Las Sendas Golf Club Fluffy enjoyed a great weekend with Ghada. At Krazy Air, Fluffy won the jumping competition! Students learned how to graph and interpret line plots. In geometry, they learned about line, line segment, ray, parallel, intersecting, and perpendicular. After studying different kinds of angles (right, acute, obtuse, and straight), students learned how to classify triangles by the length of their sides and by the size of their angles. They can recognize and name different types of quadrilaterals (parallelogram, rectangle, square, rhombus, trapezoid, and kite) by their attributes. Timed math tests are taken to climb Math Mountain and to enter Math Club. AzMERIT Math Assessments will take place on Monday and Tuesday.
