Connectrix B-Series Management CMCNE ESSENTIALS • • • Simplifies operations by providing an intuitive Graphical User Interface (GUI) and customizable dashboards Reduces Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) by providing proactive performance analysis and troubleshooting capabilities Provides unprecedented visibility and insight into the SAN fabric through integration with Fabric Vision technology Simplified and Automated Network Management Optimize Your San Environment With Connectrix Manager Converged Network Edition The Connectrix® Manager Converged Network Edition (CMCNE) helps organizations simplify management of data center SAN fabrics. CMCNE provides health and performance dashboards, with an easy-to-use Graphical User Interface (GUI) and comprehensive features that automate repetitive tasks. With CMCNE, storage and SAN administrators can proactively manage their SAN environment to support non-stop networking, address issues before they impact operations, and minimize manual tasks. Proactive SAN Management Connectrix Manager Converged Network Edition is a simple yet powerful software management tool that helps organizations ensure network availability and performance. Organizations can monitor network health with customizable dashboards that provide a summary of all discovered Connectrix B-Series devices. From these dashboards, administrators can drill-down for more detail to rapidly identify problem areas and troubleshoot accordingly. Key Capabilities CMCNE includes other key capabilities that help organizations proactively manage their SAN and IP Storage Networking environment, such as: Real-time and historical performance data reporting: Organizations gain visibility into in-depth performance measures and historical data for advanced troubleshooting and performance management. Network time and scope: Administrators can set all dashboard widgets by network type and/or time scope to easily troubleshoot and correlate errors. Advanced Call Home: CMCNE can automatically collect diagnostic information and send notifications for faster fault diagnosis, isolation and remote support operations. Policy Monitor management: CMCNE can proactively validate SAN configurations with best-practices templates. Customizable Browser-accessible Dashboard: Proactively identify problem areas and prevent network downtime with at-a-glance summaries of managed products. Event management: Administrators can receive SNMP traps, syslog event messages and customizable event alerts for monitoring, reporting and analysis. Multi-protocol Support: Automate manual operations with configuration wizards for Fibre Channel SANs, FICON® and cascaded FICON environments, Fibre Channel over IP (FCiP) tunnels and IP Switches like the Connecrix VDX-6740B. DATA SHEET FABRIC VISION Fabric Vision Technology Connectrix Manager Converged Network Edition integrates with Connectrix B-Series Fabric Vision technology to provide unprecedented visibility and insight across the storage network. CMCNE supports the following Fabric Vision technology features: Monitoring and Alerting Policy Suite (MAPS): Configures and monitors data center fabrics based on a set of user-defined policies. Flow Vision: Identifies, monitors and analyzes application-level data flows to maximize network performance. COMPASS: Set preferred configurations for future switch deployments into a policy and CMNE would monitor for adherence/violations of future configuration settings. ClearLink Diagnostics: Runs diagnostic tests on optics and cables to quickly identify and isolate potential fabric issues. Fabric Performance Impact Automatically monitors and detects network congestion in the fabric and identifies which devices are impacted by a bottleneck port. Port Profiles: Easily configures network policies for ports with risk tolerance-based templates, including server ports, storage ports and E_Ports. Simplified Daily Network Operations CMCNE helps organizations simplify network operations by providing a single tool to manage the entire network lifecycle, including monitoring, diagnostics, change management, troubleshooting and remediation. CMCNE also provides features that automate time-consuming tasks, freeing up time and resources so organizations can focus on more strategic IT initiatives. Some of these capabilities include: Adapter Management: Configures multiple adapters simultaneously using consistent parameters and pulls global reports. Zoning configuration: Configures devices logically into zones, such as Logical SAN (LSAN) zones or Boot LUN zones to increase security and network availability. Zoning impact analysis: Allows administrators to edit zone information and preview its impact without affecting a production fabric. Role-Based Access Control (RBAC): Enables organizations to define granular administrator roles and privileges to support the needs of different SAN network teams. CMCNE Ordering Information Connectrix Manager Converged Network Edition comes in two packages, providing organizations with the flexibility to meet their network requirements.
