Africa is bordered by the Indian ocean on the east and the Atlantic ocean on the west. Climate • Africa has wet and dry seasons. Most of Africa is hot. Africa is hot because it’s near the equator. Its a little colder near the south pole. Land forms • Africa is the 2nd largest continent. • It has the Sahara Desert. • There are rain forests and mountains. Countries • 53 countries in Africa. Some countries are such as Egypt, Algeria, Morrocco, Libya, Tunisia. People Many children don’t go to school. 689 million people live there. There are lots of farmers and herders. Climate • The temperature rarely gets above freezing. • Antarctica is an ice cap two miles thick. • Only two percent of the continent is not covered with ice. Land forms Antarctica is surrounded by one ocean, the Southern Ocean. The Southern Ocean is made up of many different oceans: the Atlantic, the Pacific, and the Indian Oceans.
