Tang Taizong:
Ruled from 627-649; Tang Taizong was the second emperor of the Tang Dynasty and was son of the
Tang founder, Li Yuan. Prior to becoming emperor, Taizong (or Li Shimin) was known for his military
skill and bravery. During his reign, Taizong ruled in an open minded and humane manner, learning
from the failures of the Sui Dynasty before him. In the chart below, list the political, economic, and
