Abraham Lincoln By Emily Paton About Abraham Lincoln • Lincoln was born on February 12th 1809 • Lincolns parents were called Nancy and Thomas Lincoln • He was the second child • Lincoln was married to Mary Todd Lincoln. • Mary had 4 children Robert ,Tad ,William and Edward Early Life • He was born in a one room log cabin on the Sinking Spring Farm in Harden County, Kentucky • Lincolns parental grandfather namesake had moved his family to Virginia, where he was ambushed and killed in Indian raid in 1786. Lincoln became president • Lincoln was the 16th president and he was republican • The country split in two parts the union and the confederate • The union didn’t want slaves and the confederate wanted slaves Civil War • The American civil war lasted 4 years 1861 – 1865 • The republican party led by Lincoln had campaigned against expanding slavery beyond the states in witch already existed Lincoln Dies •Lincoln died on April 15th 1865 •He was assassinated in a theatre •He was buried in Springfield lllions A Famous quote by Lincoln • One of his famous quotes: “You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.” The End.
