Beethoven
Beethoven was a great composer. During his life he
created many beautiful and famous works. Many of his
works are well kept today. At an early age, Beethoven
took an interest in music, and his father taught him day
and night. At the age of 8, he gave his first known public
performance. Though he couldn’t hear anything any
more at the age of 45, he still continued to work for his
music, and he successfully finished the ninth and tenth
symphony at last. It is said that he wrote a great deal
more than those well-known works. There are thus
hundreds of them have been available only to scholars
and specialists until now.
Beethoven never married. As a young man he had
loved deeply one of his pupils Guicciardi, Julietta. But
her father would never let her marry an ordinary
person, much less a poor musician. In the sorrow of
his heart, Beethoven created one of his greatest music
-- the Moonlight Sonata
Bill Gates -- god of the microchip, the Henry Ford of our day.
Bill Gates , the chairman, Chief Executive Officer, Bill
Gates is regarded as of the richest man in the world.
He is the boss of Microsoft and the founder of it. At the
age of 18,he got involved in computers. A year
later, he built his company. Now Microsoft has made
a lot of advances. It shows us a whole new
information age. Bill Gates has donated much money
to the world so he's also called a great charitable
gentleman. I think he is not only a successful
businessman but also a generous person.
Zhang Heng
Zhang Heng lived from AD78 to 139. When young , he
was interested in stars . Zhang Heng built a model ,
which could show how stars move during the seasons
and drew pictured of what he saw , including the
heavens . At that time, it was difficult to make people
believe new theories, but Zhang Heng didn’t give up
even when people laughed at him. Instead, he went on
with his research and continued his exploration of the
universe. He also invented the first seismograph for
measuring earthquakes.
