What is a Protist?

• Mostly single celled
• Classified by:
– MOVEMENT
– OBTAIN FOOD
• Animal-like:
– Heterotrophic
• Plant-like:
– Autotrophic (have chloroplasts)
• Fungus-like:
– Parasitic/Decomposers
– REPRODUCE
Protozoa = animal like protista
• EX: Paramecium
