Welcome to… …(drum roll)… …PLANT CELL CINEMA!! Brought to you by Tiffany Tang • Ladies and gentlemen, we begin here with the cell wall. These are the walls that hold up the whole building, and provide support to the building. Next, we move on to… (click to continue) ENTER • …the cell membrane! This is where you decide what movie you’re going to see and where you buy your ticket. This is what decides if you will actually watch the movie: after this point, you either walk in the cell theatre, or out the cell wall. • A movie without food and drink is unacceptable! Here, at the Cell Cinema, we have a variety of foods that I will now proceed into great detail about. •Here is the vacuole where you get the different foods that you would like. It has both food and drinks just for you! • What’s the most common type of food eaten at movie theatres? Popcorn, of course! This machine to your right, called the chloroplast, makes tiny corn seeds into large, fluffy pieces of popcorn from heat and light! • Feeling like you need more in your body than popcorn? Do you need some meat? The ribosome is the place that produces the proteins you need. You can get hot dogs, hamburgers, or both! • Now you are on your way to actually see the movie. Since we have so many theatres there are signs where you need to go. The path that joins all the theaters together is called the endoplasmic reticulum, or as we call it, the ER. Now entering theatre… Shhhh…movie in progress… • Ahhh…that was an enjoyable movie wasn’t it? Well, as you can see all around you, these people clean up after a movie is done playing. Then, they take out the garbage and put it in the lysosome, which breaks down the garbage. • And now, for the final place we will go to. None of the people that come to watch movies are really interested in this place—they just want to watch the movie. They don’t know that without the nucleus they wouldn’t be able to watch these movies. This is the room where all the movies are kept and where it is decided what movies are to be played and in which theatre. • I will now show you a the entire floor plan to the Plant Cell Cinema. • Ladies and gentlemen, I hope you have enjoyed the tour of the Plant Cell Cinema. I hope you come back frequently to come see the variety of movies that we provide here. You now know what really goes on inside the movie theatre and just about where everything is and its function. Thank you for coming!
