CHRISTIAN MORALITY CLASS
FIRST QUARTER PROJECT
WHAT:
MOVIE REVIEW. * NOTE: I will only accept movies rated G, PG or
PG-13. NO RATED “R” or NC-17 MOVIES! I ask you also to be
prudent in choosing decent PG-13 movies.
Many people today look to the media as a false “moral standard” to help
them decide between right and wrong. Unfortunately, many times the
media does not uphold the types of values that Jesus taught us to live in
the Gospel, in order to be one of His followers. Sometimes however, the
media can be a great instrument in helping us to learn good values.
During the next month, chose a movie that you feel teaches an important
lesson about living a truly moral Christian life. (You will get a bit of extra
credit if you chose a movie that no one else has chosen!) Write a threefour page paper (Double space, 12 pt. Font) that answers the following:
1.
2.
3.
4.
Write the title of the movie.
Rate this movie from 1 (not very good) to 5 (Great! A must see!)
Give a BRIEF outline of the story portrayed in this movie.
Chose one character in this movie who is facing a moral problem or
dilemma. Who is he/she?
5. What is her/his dilemma?
6. How does your character decide to resolve his/her dilemma?
7. Do you believe he/she made the best choice?
8. Why do you think this movie teaches us about living a truly moral
CHRISTIAN life? Explain citing examples from Ten
commandments and Beatitudes.
9. Finally, reflect upon what you learned in this movie. Do you think the
message in this movie will help you in your life?
10. Would you recommend this movie to others? Why or why not?
