a certain candidate/idea, so that they will join in;
appeals to many people’s desire to be on the
winning side
Stacked Cards
Presents only one side of the issue, can distort the facts
An incumbent says about an opponent: “I’ve already done
things he just wants to do!”
Name Calling
an attempt to turn people against an opponent or
idea by associating an unpleasant label or
description
