By: Jahmel Roache Weather Fronts Ms. Allen Problem Question Is their any other type of front scientist have not discovered yet? Hypothesis If the four weather fronts all have properties of the four seasons, then do the clouds have an effect too? Purpose/Focus The purpose of this project is to study the properties of fronts and be able to identify a front in the clouds. Today, we will focus on the four weather fronts and their importance to meteorology. It’s important to know what is going on with the weather so you can be prepared fro anything like a tsunami or a rainstorm. I think the geological event you should be most prepared for is a hurricane. It is also easy to prepare for, all you need is battery operated appliances, a gallon of water for every one in your family, and easy made food. Observation How I feel about the climate where I live is strange. Why I feel this way is because you cannot really tell when it is going to rain or be nice. I feel kind of aakward when I walk outside with a raincoat on and its 85 degrees. The April heat wave was one of the best climates in my neighborhood. It was nice and hot and for the first time in April ever, it felt like summer. Then it went back to being around 50 degrees and then it rained for 1 ½ weeks. The Four Types of Fronts Science Vocabulary Front- a boundary between air masses with different temperatures. Cold front- a front where cold air moves in under a warm air mass. Warm front- a front where warm air moves in over a cold air mass. Occluded fronts- when cold air is replacing cool air with warm air above. Science Vocabulary(continued) Stationary front- occur when neither warm nor cold air advances.
