Role
 Part of the production team
 Joins as early as possible
 Helps with budgets
 Recruit a design team and crew
 Liaison between production and designers and crew
 Looks after StageSoc and our equipment
 Some paperwork for the technical aspects (e.g. risk assessment)
 A very central role

StageSoc committee will advertise the position

Send in your pitch, go to the meeting etc

StageSoc committee and liaison members vote

Once TD elected they recruit a design team

The design team will meet together with TD and director, discuss ideas
etc. (Usually TD gets ideas from director and feeds them down)

Design team read through their scripts, go to rehearsals, start to put
ideas together etc

Meetings with the TD and director will continue.

A few weeks before the show, crew recruited by TD (usually
through forum on website)

Designers start to show their ideas to crew so set building or any
prep work can take place.

Set painting, building, prop finding, costume making, effect tests
etc

Sun – Get In all day, put LX up, set up sound, put set in.

Mon – Tech rehearsal, a chance for us to get everything
right

Tues – Dress rehearsal, run a close to how a show will run
as possible

Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat – Shows! Possible a matinee or poss. a
night off!

Sat night – Get Out, ready for next show.


Lighting – Large stock of lights, LX desk, extra dimmers,
some practical electrics (practicals)

Sound – Installed PA, sound desk, extra speakers/monitors
and amps, mics and stands, cables multicore, show relay.

Stage – Comms (cans), tabs, blacks, large stock of flats,
loads of wood, many many props & costumes.

Misc – large selection of power tools, other tools, 2
ladders, paint

Big Store – Flats, wood, staging

Small Store – Tools, ladders

Box – Lights, sound equipment, desks, cables
etc

Lift Store– Incoming show store

House – Furniture, wood, props, costume

Too much to tell you about now but we do
loads!!!

