Batch 1 Version 1.5 6:00pm 4/15/03 1. Title Page Screen Flow Overview Create a New Class A. Start with Recommended Lessons in Calendar Set Initial Class Options Choose Lessons from TOC Set Lesson Chronology (Optional) B. Start with a Blank Calendar Class/Calendar Description: The Create a New Class process is entered the first time a Planbook is created or when the Create a New Class option is selected. After initial setup information is entered (Class Name, Start/End dates, Type of Scheduling), the teacher makes a decision between starting with a Calendar populated with the recommended lessons, or with a blank calendar that can be modified later. If a blank calendar is selected, the process ends. If the teacher decides to include Lessons in the Calendar, two more screens are displayed. The second screen allows the teacher to choose items from the Table of Contents To be included. The third screen allows the optional process of re-arranging the order or chronology in which the items are included in the Planbook/Calendar. Page 2. Start creating a new Class by entering some preliminary information in Step 1 below. In Step 2, you can choose which Lessons to include from the book’s Table of Contents, then in Step 3 you can select the sequence they appear in the Calendar. Note: If you wish to skip Step 2 and Step 3 at this time, choose “Start with a Blank Calendar”. You can add Lessons to the Class later. Functionality: Class Name, Start/End Dates, and Types of Scheduling retain current functionality. Class Name: (For example: Period 1 World History) Class Start Date: September 4 2003 Calendar Setup involves the choice between starting with a populated calendar or with a blank calendar. Class End Date: May 25 2004 Selecting the first option requires proceeding on to the Table of Contents (Steps 2 and 3). Types of Scheduling Types of Class Scheduling: ? Note: need suggested wording from ML When clicked, Pop-Up window appears with information about selection options. Calendar Options Calendar Setup: Choosing the second option finishes the Create a Class process. ? Note: this screen will be displayed as a full screen the first time a Class is created and as a Pop-Up Window when invoked form the Left Navigation Menu. 1. Renamed buttons, used standard Windows convention: Back, Next, and Cancel. Note: no Back button in this screen since it is first in sequence. When user presses Next, the system checks to see if the length of the lessons selected falls within the specified Class End Date. 2 If it does not, the error message is displayed as shown. 2. Error message now includes a specific number of days by which the user is over the specified Class End Date. Highlight the item and use the “Move Up” or “Move Down” buttons to set the order. Hint: you can select multiple contiguous items by holding down the Shift key while clicking. (For Macs, hold down the Option key while clicking).
