Injuries and Injury Prevention Vocabulary • Sprain- a sudden or violent twist or wrench of a joint with tearing or stretching of ligaments. • Strain- a muscle or tendon impaired, injured or weakened by stretching to maximum extension and tautness; an injury caused by overuse,misuse, or excessive pressure.
