AWAKENED WORSHIP
Presented by
Dr. W. Terry Bailey
John 4:20-24



Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you Jews say
that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship.”
21 Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming
when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem,
worship the Father. 22 You worship what you do not know;
we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews.
23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true
worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the
Father is seeking such to worship Him.
24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in
spirit and truth.”


To quicken the conscience by the holiness of God,

To feed the mind with the truth of God,

To purge the imagination by the beauty of God,

To open the heart to the love of God, and

To devote the will to the purpose of God.”
Attitudes
John 4:20
“Our father’s worshipped on this
mountain, and you Jews say that
in Jerusalem is the place where
one ought to worship.”

The Spirit Filled Study Bible

“What matters is not where one worships, but the
attitude of the heart and mind. True worship is not
mere form and ceremony, but spiritual reality, which
is in harmony with the nature of God, who is Spirit.
Worship must also be in truth, that is, transparent,
sincere, and according to biblical mandates.”
Dr. Pickett


“The biblical pattern of worship is based on the
surrender of the heart to the lordship of Christ.”
“Without the heart reality of obedience and
submission to the Word of God, we will never
experience true worship in spirit and in truth.”
Attitude


The American Heritage Dictionary defines attitude
as – “A state of mind or a feeling; disposition:”
Dr. John Maxwell defines the attitude as, “an
inward feeling expressed by behavior.”
Out of the Abundance of the Heart


Jesus said in Matthew 12:34 – “Out of the
abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.”
In Matthew 15:18 – “But those things which proceed
out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile
a man.”
Dr. Pickett

“According to the scriptural pattern, this is the
fundamental essence of worship: I bow my heart
before God Almighty and acknowledge His
supreme lordship over my life.” “The divine essence
of worship is realized through total surrender of the
worshiper to the One worshipped.”
Altitude
Isaiah 60:1-2


Isaiah 60:1 – “Arise, shine; for your light has come!
And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.”
Verse 2 – “But the Lord will arise over you, and His
glory will be seen upon you.”
Revelation 4:1

Revelation 4:1 – “After these things I
looked, and behold, a door standing
open in heaven. And the first voice
which I heard was like a trumpet
speaking with me, saying, “come up
here, and I will show you things which
must take place after this.”


We have an assurance that a heavenly place has
been prepared for us (John 14:2)
There is power in the supernatural connection, and
we have access to the Father and all of His love
(John 14:5-7)
We will receive revelation of who the Father is
(John 14:21)
Dr. Chuck Pierce



Jesus ascended so the Helper (HOLY SPIRIT) could come
to earth of our behalf. Therefore, if we worship and
ascend, we are promised that the Holy Spirit will fill our
lives. He will bring conviction when we sin, open the
way for us to experience our righteousness through faith
and condemn the devil on our behalf. (John 16:7-9)
We will be comforted during our suffering (Acts 7:5460)
Because He ascended, He can reveal heaven’s call (Acts
9:1-18)
Dr. Chuck Pierce



We can be released and aligned with the gifts that
will allow us to demonstrate God’s power, authority
and rule in the earthly realm (Ephesians 4:7-12)
We can demonstrate the life-changing power of the
gospel (Col. 3:1-4)
From ascension, we can always have a final victory
(Revelation 1:1)
