Excellence in Research Award
Eligibility
All full-time faculty members who have been at the CPH for at least one year
are eligible for the award. Previous award winners must wait a minimum of
5 years before being considered again.
Who Can Nominate?
Nominations for the award may be made by any faculty member, student or
alumni in the CPH. Note: Self-nomination and self-solicitation of
nomination are prohibited. Awards committee members may not
nominate faculty members for this award and will be removed and
replaced by another faculty member from their department if they
are nominated for an award.
Procedure for Nominating a Faculty Member
To nominate a faculty member, complete the nomination form on the back of
this flyer or go to http://www.publichealth.uga.edu/about/forms to download
a nomination form. A justification of the nominee’s contributions is optional.
Nomination forms should be emailed to [email protected] with Research
Award Nomination as the subject.
Nominations will be accepted through Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016.
Selection Process
The CPH Awards Committee will select recipients based on the following
criteria:
 Research performed by the nominee, with an emphasis on research
performed while at the University of Georgia
 Impact of the research on the discipline
 Creativity in research, rather than basing the award solely on
quantities of publications or amounts funded.
Note: The selection committee reserves the right not to make an award.
