Deposition
 Water
picks up sediment
 Drops it of where the river or stream
ends.
 (Sediment is sand, humus, gravel, clay, etc.)
 Drop-off makes deltas.
Erosion Q’s and info
 when
water wears off the land.
 it causes the river or stream to grow
larger.
 Q: When does water pick up the most
sediment?
 A:Storms can make the water more
powerful.
 the water picks up more sediment in high
flow period than in a low-flow period.

Erosion (continued)
Q: How long can erosion last?
 A: As long as it can erode something.(or
as long as there is a source of erosion)

Deltas
 the
end of a river or stream
 caused
because the water from a river
empties out into an ocean or lake.
 When formed, it is a triangular shape.
Power of Water
 Q: Is
it possible for water to pick up a
rock?
 can pick up rocks If strong enough.
 also can travel all around the world.
 can go into a crack from a rock and
freeze and break the rock.
Layers of the Earth
How many layers of the earth are there?
 What are they?
 4 layers.
The crust, mantel, inner core and outer
core.
The earths layers form a magnet out of the
earth.
The earth and it’s layers are approximately
4.8 billion years old.
