What is MRSA?
It’s a strain of Staph infection that is
resistant to the group of antbiotics
called betalactams ie penicillin
 Spread by bacteria going into cuts or
open wounds

Symptoms
MRSA infection will produce pimple or
boils that will swell and could be painful
and drain pus
 If not treated can lead to pneumonia,
meningitis, or toxic shock syndrome

Treatment
MRSA is resistant to penicillin and other
antibiotics in the same family
 Antibiotics have been made that don’t
let the bacterium to break down the
antibiotic

Cures
There are not any quick cure
 Infections are cured with aid of
antibiotics and coving up infections so
that they can’t spread

Prevention
Cleaning wounds and washing clothes
and hands helps prevent infection
