Comprehension and Vocabulary Strategies Discussion Web This is a reading strategy which allows teachers to demonstrate that old adage which says ‘there are 2 sides to every question’. Focuses on all four facets of communication: reading, thinking, listening, and writing. Sample Discussion WEB Machines now do most of the work. The Industrial revolution provided jobs for many people especially immigrants. More products were now affordable for the common man. The cost of living dropped which helped working people. Labor saving devices become available and were used in factories and homes. YES Workers received very low pay & could barely make a living. Mass production work in a factory NO dehumanized the worker who became a cog in a machine. Did the Industrial revolution help working people??? Working conditions were not safe and unhealthy. Workers had to work long hours with little time off. Workers were no longer skilled & could not look forward to owning their own business.
