 Is
Abstinence
the only sure way to protect
yourself from STD’s
 Although the pressure to engage in
sexual activity can be strong,
abstinence is the only healthy
decision.
 Everyday you are exposed to
messages in the media that give the
impression that everyone is having
sex
15
Sex is a wrong choice for teens because:
 It
can head to unintended
pregnancy
 It
can lead to STD’s
 It
can cause you to lose focus on
your long-term goals (education,
job, etc.)
16
Physical attraction to another person
is a normal part of life
 It
is important not to let these
feelings control your decisions
 You
can express affection for
another person in ways that
don’t risk your health or values
17
 By
practicing abstinence, you can
be sure that your relationships
with others are built on shared
interests and mutual trust, rather
than on sex.
18
 Abstinence
is the only pregnancy
and STD/HIV/AIDS prevention
method that is 100% effect,
100% safe, and 100% free of side
effects
