These walk-a-thons conducted by Sanjeevani are aptly termed as “Can-a-thons”. Someone asked us “How can Cancer be cured by a Walk?” We say an awareness walk is not curative, but it is preventive. •By making people aware of the risk factors, signs & symptoms, and emphasizing on regular medical check ups, we are trying to highlight EARLY DETECTION. •By being detected timely (in 1st/2nd stage) most cancers are curable.. •often people aren't aware of signs & symptoms and it becomes too late when they seek medical help. •Factually, early detection can cut down cancer deaths by 50%. •Besides, the walk also talks about not losing hope and fighting cancer bravely. Emotional, social and psychological healing is equally important for a survivor to bounce back to life with the same enthusiasm.
