The “fish like” specimen was
observed on a tropical coral reef
off the coast of Costa Rica on
March 23, 2011.

This bright orange fish appears
to be about 7 cm in length with
three white bands surrounding
the head, midsection, and back
fin.

A total of eight fins are evident
all edged in a black pigment.
•
The fins on the underside of the
fish are significantly smaller that
the ones on the back and tail.
Describe
The “fish like” specimen was observed on a tropical coral reef off the
coast of Costa Rica on March 23 2011. This bright orange fish appears
to be about 7 cm in length with three white bands surrounding the head,
midsection, and back fin. A total of eight fins are evident all edged in a
black pigment. The fins on the underside of the fish are significantly
