The project “ Nature of Latvia”
The project objective - to develop students
skills to describe the landscape of Latvia
Pupils’ task:
1. To get , select and use the information
from different sources
2. To summarize the acquired information
3. To present the project
Competition "Little Scientists“
Forms 5-6
Little Scientists is a quiz which main aim is to
promote students’ interest about science.
The questions for the quiz were prepared by
students of secondary school.
The topics of the quiz:

Equipment and substances
9 test tubes
• 4 days malt peas
• filter paper
• liquid fertilizer
• water with sugar
• stand
• distilled water
• colored wax crayon
• ruler
•
Pour water into three tubes
Pour liquid fertilizer into next three
tubes
Pour water with sugar into last three
tubes
Make nine balls of filter paper and put them
in a tube, but don’t let them slide down
Put a pea seedling on filter paper
ball
Put tubes in the stand in the classroom
for a week
After week
Observe any
changes that
occurred in all
test tubes with
peas seedlings
We measure pea seedlings root
length
We register the results in the table!

Conclusion
The best environment for pea seedling is
fertilized liquid
 The worst environment for pea seedling is
water with sugar
We proved that fertilized liquid is needed
for plant to grow!!
