Plant Parts First Grade Shahnaz Jatoi Flower Parts Roots • Roots grow underground. • Roots hold the plant into the soil. They take in water from the soil. Stems • Stems take water and nutrients to all of the other parts of a plant. Leaves • Leaves take in sunlight and air to make food for the plant. Flowers • Flowers help the plant make seeds and fruit. • Seeds are carried by animals, wind, and water to new places. Seeds & Fruits • The seeds and fruit from a plant grow into new plants. •Now you are a botanist. A botanist is a plant expert!
