ABOUT WWF
• WWF stood for “ World Wildlife Fund”.
• This organization conserve nature and
ecological processes.
ABOUT WWF-TURKEY
• WWF-TURKEY established in 1996. It is
the Turkey National Organization of the
WWF International.
• This organisation conserve the biodiversity
and natural resources of Turkey.
• WWF-TURKEY’s projects about protecting
species and regions are examined by
government and this organisation try to
find concrete solutions for the enviroment.
Enviroment Protection Projects:
• Living water
• Sea and shores
• Forests and steppes
SUCCESSES:
• Kure mountains declared as a national
park.
• “Shore’s administration and Tourism”
project was rewarded.
• The river Ulubat is included in “Living
Lakes”.
• 122 region, existing varied species of
plants is announced by WWF-TURKEY.
Water Sources Project
• Rational usage of water sources in Konya
interior basin.
• Protecting the biodiversity in Ulubat lake.
Sea and Shores Project
• Protecting regions used by caretta
carettas to ovulate.
• The tourism and conserving project of
Likya shores put into practice.
Forest Project:
• Detecting protected habitats in
Mediterranean Region.
• Trying to locate the Panthera Pardus
Tuliana.
• Turkey has 254 plant species facing with
extinction but only %1 of the regions
having these species are protecting.
• WWF-TURKEY continue working about
this situation and they are trying to find
solutions.
• In sabanci university people are sensitive
about enviroment. There are recycle bins
and there is group of students who put a
lot of work in for the enviroment.
