Synopsis of subject
This subject deals with the important aspects of wireless and mobile
computing including wireless LAN, wireless WAN and cellular
networks. Wireless technology protocols and standards are also
studied.
Mobile communications and wireless networking
technology has seen a thriving development in recent years. Driven
by technological advancements as well as application demands,
various classes of communication networks emerged. This includes
sensor networks, ad hoc networks, and cellular networks, wireless
broadband technologies.
Subjek ini berkaitan dengan aspek kepentingan pengkomputeran
tanpa wayar dan mudah alih termasuklah LAN tanpa wayar, WAN
tanpa wayar dan rangkaian cellular. Protokol dan standard teknologi
tanpa wayar turut akan dikaji. Komunikasi mudah alih dan
rangkaian teknologi tanpa wayar telah berkembang maju semenjak
beberapa tahun kebelakangan ini. Ia didorong oleh kemajuan
teknologi, permintaan aplikasi dan pelbagai kelas rangkaian
komunikasi telah muncul. Ia meliputi rangkaian sensor, rangkaian
ad hoc dan rangkaian cellular, teknologi jalur lebar tanpa wayar.
